Site Update

So it has been almost a month since this site went up (officially) on August 16, 2007. Here are our stats as of today:

You are looking at over 100,000 page loads in less than a month. That is another milestone. I hope this is an indicator of the number of people who are being exposed to the truth and being helped in making a crucial decision. Anybody here who is into web/internet related work will be able to appreciate those numbers. They are incredible.

Some people have asked me if I even have time to take care of my own business with all the time I spend researching and updating this blog. I must say, it does get hectic at times, but thank you for your prayers and well wishes. I believe in the power of prayer and yours are all very appreciated.

Some of you may have noticed that I've tried to take a backseat to the life stirring in the comments section. Some of the commentary obviously come from people well versed in CfC issues. I notice the names of people; Zeny Gimenez, Tony Gimenez, Jeanie Hizon, Caloy Yturzaeta, Mina Francisco, and Marivie Dalman among others who are not afraid to identify themselves and give their own valued thoughts and experiences to what is going on. Some questions asked are already being answered in the comments sections and they shouldn't be missed, which is why I constantly try and draw attention to them. What I am saying is, they have been a LOT of help to me lately. A big, big thank you to all who help clarify certain points for those who have asked questions. It is very appreciated. I'd like to request that you all keep doing what you are doing, and assist this blog in doing its job of helping our brothers and sisters discern.

Let us try and be constructive with our comments as the way forward is slowly being revealed to all of us. This crisis happened for a reason. I hope and wish that it will leave CfC a more focused, effective, and blessed organization.

Also you will notice that there is a new poll on the right side of the page. As some people have brought up, it may be that this site is fostering a sense of division among us. There are people who have expressed their frustration and those who have left comments in righteous anger. This blog was started to give voice and support to those who have kept quiet in an enlightened response to attacks. If you feel that its job is done and it should be put to rest, then I invite you all to vote in that poll and let me know.

As for me, I commit to doing what I've been doing. The whole truth. No soundbites, no snippets, and no partials. You will get the whole thing, whether it's audio, video, or print. You all deserve to know/see/hear these things in their entirety and make up YOUR OWN MIND about what they represent.

God bless.

To all Commenters in this site:

God's peace be with you!

In the middle of this crisis we are all hurt and deeply concern of our beloved community. As the turn of events come and go, let us just be remind by a passage of from the scriptures telling us of what our word can do. Here it is:

" And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It set on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself." James 3:6

Please be reminde that we are christians. And to those people who are in the situation of giving out their oppinions do it in a christian way and manner. be careful in saying whats on your mind.

This crisis in our community starts with just words wrongly percieved, understood. E-mails wrongly sent to someone else. That set everything to flame and burned up our whole community. And this situation continues to exist as we can see right now.

And as we all know this s will result and has result to casualties. And the most and deeply affected of this strife are those who are innocent.

Please continue to be loving inspite of the the hurts!

Thank you and God Bless!

just want to share with you, blog moderator c.d. and all the commenters in this blog, an unpublished (yet) article of boy montelibano regarding the prayer rally that took place yesterday at ultra. apologies to boy. thanks and God bless.

Prayer Rally: One Nation For God

In a rare display of solidarity, four renewal and covenanted Christian communities joined hands in a beautiful and spirit-filled prayer rally with the united purpose of working together to do battle with the evil of poverty and the curse of hunger afflicting millions of Filipinos. Spurred by the urgings of Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales citing Pope Benedict XVI who declared that communities cannot be truly Christian when they are unable to resolve the poverty in their midst, Bukas Loob sa Dios, Focolare, Light of Jesus, and CFC/Gawad Kalinga committed themselves to address hunger in our midst, especially Metro Manila which is experiencing shocking levels of hunger incidences.

From the homily of the mass to the emotional sharing of painter Joey Velasco and Bo Sanchez to the exhortation of Tony Meloto and an hour of praise and worship led by GK Executive Director Luis Oquiñena, the whole event raised the spirit and resolve of more than 5,000 Christians who committed themselves to serve Jesus by serving the least among us.

To put flesh to the fired-up spirit of the occasion, Ric Pascua of BLD led the elders and members of the four communities to a Covenant of Solidarity. The covenant is self explanatory and will be introduced to many other groups from the Church, from Business, from the academe, from civil society and also from national agencies and local government units.

Gawad Kalinga was instrumental in bringing the four communities together as all four have their respective engagements with Gawad Kalinga already - directly or indirectly. Three have GK villages while the fourth has been donating homes to the GK village that Joey Velasco is building for the street children in his painting and their families.

Each community will be contributing to an comprehensive and integrated campaign aptly called Feed My Sheep. Specifically intended to address hunger in Metro Manila which is suffering from an unusually high incidence of involuntary hunger, the Feed My Sheep campaign will solicit multi-sectoral support and resources and design a feeding/food distribution system asking all to be part of the infrastructure.

The message was clear. In prayer, the communities of believers heard a single reminder - that Jesus is fed, clothed and sheltered when the least among us are fed, clothed and sheltered. It is a time for Christian love to be manifested, and manifested powerfully in the face of massive poverty and growing hunger in our midst.

May the Lord bless us with courage and generosity.

Boy Montelibano

HI C. D.

how does it add up to that fantastic figure? Does it add up on the meter if if one just goes to the site, reads the content even without making a comment.
Sorry, zero ako on matters like this,
just clarifying. you may reply later when you are not busy.
Maybe FFL members also log on this but don't make comments, no?
Thanks.

truth seeker,

The page loads counter adds the total number of times the website is accessed (read). You don't have to leave a comment to be counted, merely looking at the site counts.

Hi CD,

On Prayer Rally held on Sep 9 at ULTRA: is there a way we can get a copy of this whole event?

Thanks a lot too. This site has been very helpful to all of us in our chapter. I hope & agree too that we must avoid un-christian manner of delivering comments and opinions. Wherever we are, whatever is our faith and thoughts are...we are all children of God...and only God knows what is truly in our hearts..as actions and words may be deceptive.

Many thanks & best regards.

Painful as it is, we as a community has to go through this very hard times. Even the early catholic churches has experienced something like this.

But no matter how much reasoning from various biblical text nor motivating us to accept these things as the Will of God, it still leaves a very bitter after taste. The once loving community turns to a suspecting siblings.

Have we really come this very low? Is this irreparable? Now, a third group of united CFC is forming. ARRRRRGH, we are the best of fragmenters. Ours is like a mirror that got broken, and each of us are said to reflect Christ.

We really need to go to Luneta, in front of the world, let us show them our true selves, and be repentant to God for what we have done to ourselves.

Remember EDSA, "If my people would humble themselves and turn from their wicked ways, I will bless their lands". As catholics, we must come together in the banquet of the Eucharist, but nobody seems to get anybody on the same table anymore. Whom are we waiting.....Pope Benedict XVI to weigh down on us and prod us to go to Luneta to settle our differences.

The greatest travesty is to stop loving, Christ is crying right now.

Enough of this bickering....stop it all....this is not to be our legacy...Mahiya tayong Lahat.

CD,

Let me thank you for the great service you are providing CFC members in their search for the truth. Sayang lang, we had to go to a blog like yours to be informed of the truth.

Though sad to say that only a handful of FFL members contribute to your blog of what they know about the conflict. I just hope that their silence is not indicative of the truth that they espouse.

To all my brothers and sisters who have opted to stay because of this blog, let us thank CD for the service he has provided.

To CFC and FFL members alike, lets now move on. Lets now work on our chosen charisms! Lets us not raid each others camp. If we continue on with this conflict, more people will be caught in the middle. Let members decide on their own using God's given gift of discernment.

Lets not fight for the people we have already saved. Lets focus our energies on the millions out there who have not heard of the good news. Marami pa sila diyan.

Dear Lino EB4,

Agree! All camps should now move on! Always be forward looking! Leave the past behind.

As a principle in life, what's important to me is TODAY, next is TOMORROW (but not too far ahead). The PAST, is past.

I love to share wonderful past experiences in CFC with other brethren. Nice to reminisce the good old days. But i cannnot simply do that everyday.

My TODAY is important. I want to enjoy what God has in store for me today. Who knows when i sleep tonight, there'll be no more waking up tomorrow?

Enjoy your day. Live life to the full.

Hi CD,

I think your (can we say ours too?) blog spot has done great things.

It has become a source of updates, a venue to express oneself, and I think even FFL people are around...yun nga lang, medyo siguro mas madalas silang maging malungkot sa nakikita nila mga comments and the information thats not favorable to them, exposed here.

But that's life. Some bad plans are exposed by the Lord, more so if the continuance of such bad plans will obstruct the work of the Lord.

Up to today, and still in the near future I could not really fathom how conducting meetings where you plot moves to destabilize the community, where you involve the Bishops and then miscarry the deed because of plain and simple carelessness. Or was it that God wanted it exposed?

Anyway, when are you going to review the count of the "visits" to this web site again?

Another question, how do I make my comment come out in living color like Frank's?

Thank you.
