I guess all of us should reflect on Bishop Alo's message.

PRELATE SAYS MANY ARE WORSE HYPOCRITES
MATI CITY, July 21, 2008 –Bishop Patricio Alo said that many are apparently clean and orderly in the outside but have worse and wicked hidden agenda inside.

Alo said this wicked agenda inside prevalent among the many people today is called “the worse hypocrisy or pakitang-tao or palabas.”

“(We can see this) by easily judging people for corruption, immorality, lust, pride, laziness, and other vices, and even comparing nations and gauze their level of wickedness,” Alo said in his column, “Truth Sets Us Free.”

Alo, known for being a soft-spoken prelate said that for all these deep-seated vices of humanity the only remedy is the grace of the savior Jesus Christ.

“I mean His grace because He is God-made-man in the sense that He took our human nature to save us from our sins,” he said.

He also added sincere repentance on the part of the offender as a remedy.

Alo also said that the seven capital sins are the road to ruin.

“They (Seven Capital Sins) precisely express the attachment to worldly realities from which only God’s grace can liberate,” he said, adding:

“God’s grace comes through prayer and God’s word. It’s not money that is the root of evil but the seven inordinate loves or capital sins: pride, covetousness (or avarice), lust, anger, gluttony, envy, and sloth.”

Alo also pointed out that in concrete the Church offers God’s word, diverse prayers and the sacraments as aids and channels of grace for the erring humanity.

“Without the grace of Jesus, our world would be living in darkness and the shadow of death,” ended Alo quoting a passage from the Bible. Yet, this 'kadiri' of a skin disease may only be skin-deep, although the psychological effects would be far-reaching.

In contrast, other disgraceful kinds of "fluids" can come from the grapes of wrath, sloth, pride, gluttony, envy, greed, and lust growing lusciously in the hearts of FAP and his minions, to which the skin-deep ‘kurikong’ is no equivalent at all!

But thanks for the banter…for ushering in the street-level promos of local cure-alls against skin irritations and diseases (also to include: an-an, ap-ap, pangatol, nuka-nuka, kaspa, pinaakan sa lamok ug pulgas, pinaakan sa lamigas, etc.) to highlight the contamination of our well-being in CFC, as well as to humour us. Warlie T...RE: Remarville

Does anybody remember Bro. Warlie Tullao of North A2? He used to be a volunteer worker in that GK village until his death about 2 years ago. Prior to his Remarville stint, he was in charge of the construction of 2-storey concrete GK houses in the fire-razed part of Capri, QC. How he was able to build those houses in Capri within the very low budget allotted ( purely bayanihan !) is indeed an engineering feat.

Our brothers at the Center were probably inspired by what he showed can be done in Capri that they exported him to Remarville to lead the workers there.

With enthusiasm he accepted Remarville, trusting that he was able to make a good pattern to follow for those he left in Capri. He just accepted the new work, never mind of the inconvenience. For him, this is another God's work after all. I sense that if he was offered another GK work which is much farther, he would have accepted just the same. No wonder, when there was a call for a few days work in Bicol, he volunteered without hesitation.

With the same dedication as before he would go daily to Remarville in his dilapidated bike; complete with his baon, in his favorite checkered working long sleeves shirt. This he would do unmindful of his own failing health. He was totally consumed by his passion for GK and innate love for the poor, for after all he considered himself as one. Yet, despite his economic status, you just have to hear him and you will be amazed by the faith in God he has. When you hear him gives his testimony at how God worked in his life, whether in small or big things , you will not miss his sincerity; he would almost always be teary-eyed.

He could have gone to South Korea for a re-contract as an OFW, but he was prevented by a burning desire to contribute his God given talent to the GK Work. In GK works, he probably found there someone more than either Solomon or Jonah. God is there.

He was no engineer. In fact was a tricycle driver plying the Bayan Nova- Capri route, but when there was nobody who would answer to call for leaders on the ground, he made himself available. Submission, humility.

Then one day, that was sometime August, two years ago, under the heat of the sun in Remarville, he just collapsed. One week later he was dead.

Until now, how he conducted himself as a GK worker, continues to inspire those who still have real passion for the poor. He touched us by his faith and dedication; and showed the real meaning of loving thy neigbor.

I just want to salute this brother now that Remarville is hot in this blog.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6165175175127877464.post-59654630877079940022008-07-22T20:37:00.000+08:002008-07-22T20:37:00.000+08:00Take a break my friends masama sa kalusugan natin ...Take a break my friends masama sa kalusugan natin ang puro negative thinking...

TARA... Paul J. Lehman, the spiritual director of BLD Newark and New Jersey district refused a big banquet for his sacerdotal 50th anniversary and instead wanted the funds be donated to GK for a village for the poor in Cabiao.
Fr. Paul also encouraged BLD members in the US to get involved with GK.
He came to know GK and was impressed about the transformation that was happening to the beneficiaries.
Dr. Cirilo “Bong” Encarnacion, one of the BLD execs in the Newark-New Jersey district was intrigued over what has gotten over Fr. Paul to passionately pursue building a GK village.
“We went to the GK presentation and we understood why and everybody got involved,” Encarnacion said.
Soon after, the BLD Newark and CFC Ancop Northeast collaborated to build the first BLD-GK village, the Fr. Paul Lehman Village in Cabiao, Nueva Ecija.
Since then the partnership has grown and today there are 17 GK-BLD villages already.
These are the Fr. Paul Lehman Village and UST Medical Class of 1976 Village; Mauban- BLD Trenton Village and Tropical Hut Village; San Ildefonso – BLD Long Island village; Seruma- St. James Village; Barotac-Viejo –St. Christopher Village; Naga- St. Mary’s Village; Camp Aquino- Kawal Kalinga; Talao-Talao – Village of the Angels. BLD-GK has also built homes in Hapay-na-Mangga, Marinduque and UP Los Baños.
BLD will soon construct a BLD-GK Village in Sun Valley, Parañaque.
Sceptical
Encarnacion admitted being sceptical at first when he first heard about GK because he thought everything that they contribute for the good of their countrymen would be for naught.
“I was sceptical because nothing good has ever come out of the Philippines. I was one of those who bash the Philippines. Actually, I have talked to someone and he said the only way for the Philippines to get better is to build a new race,” said Encarnacion who has been staying in the US for more than a decade now.
“I have guarded optimism about GK, but I went ahead,” he added.
As he learned more about GK, he got convinced that GK was a holistic solution to solve the poverty in the country because of its youth and child development, Christian values and livelihood and pre-school education programs.
“I love its holistic approach, it is not just a housing project, what GK does is to transform residents. Those who have vices are given Christian life values through the Christian Life program. There are livelihood projects, a preschool for the children of the beneficiaries and a youth development program. I saw the transformation and along the way, I got convinced this is the way to go. GK is a good vehicle,” said Encarnacion.
He was also pleased that many politicians are now part of GK and are doing their share to alleviate poverty in the Philippines through GK.
“I realized that GK is the real deal, may pag-asa sa ating bayan. We just hope that we can continue the movement of change with the help of expats and will involve all Filipinos, we should bring it out and let everyone know the miracle of GK that is transforming the Filipinos,” Encarnacion said.
Dela Fuente, for his part, said supporting GK is truly liberating the poor from the clutches of poverty.
“As a community we have to be engaged in a mission, sharing in the work of Jesus Christ to the poor. I realized that the reason why am I disciple is so that that I can serve the poor people,” said De la Fuente, who was born and raised in the Philippines but migrated to the US since the early 1990s.
Leo Alquiros, another BLD member based in New Jersey said he totally believed in the GK cause the first time he saw the presentation about it in 2005.
Moved by its noble cause, Alquiros pledged 30 homes for the poor in Quezon.
To complete his village, he with BLD and CFC-Ancop Northeast members held fund-raising projects like dinner dance and concerts for the completion of the BLD villages.
He never felt so fulfilled in his life, knowing that he was given an opportunity to give back and share his blessings to the poor.
Leo said he went through a lot of struggles when he first came to America to seek greener pastures but through the grace of God, his eatery and catering business, Tropical Hut Island grill and foodmart, took off and is now one of the successful Filipino businesses in New Jersey.
He also believes that GK is a perfect vehicle to build and unite the Philippines.
“GK not only provide shelter for the poor, but also to assist them in building a self-sustaining socio-economic community in their villages. It is one of the most successful and innovative ventures on nation building because it taps the beautiful values of bayanihan and pakikisama,” Leo said.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6165175175127877464.post-88976269454069233812008-07-21T21:52:00.000+08:002008-07-21T21:52:00.000+08:00Fr.
